RIVERSIDE, Calif. – National CORE, the third largest national nonprofit developer of affordable housing, won seven APEX awards from the Apartment Association Greater Inland Empire, including two in the coveted “Community of the Year” categories.
The 14th annual awards, which honor outstanding achievement and commitment to excellence within the rental housing industry, were presented Friday night at the association’s annual gala at the Fox Theatre in Riverside.
National CORE won for community of the year in the two largest categories. The Villaggio On Route 66, a 160-unit family oriented development, won top honors among rental projects with 151 to 300 units. Mountainside Apartments, a 384-unit family-oriented development, won first prize in the largest category – projects of at least 351 units. Both Villaggio and Mountainside are located in Rancho Cucamonga.
CORE’s 85-unit San Marino development in Montclair was awarded Senior Community of the Year.
“Winning in these three categories is a tremendous honor for our team at National CORE,” said Steve PonTell, the Rancho Cucamonga-based company’s chief executive officer. “It reflects our commitment to transforming lives and communities, and we could not be prouder.”
