National Community Renaissance on an ambitious rehabilitation plan to renovate 60 existing multi-family units and construct 22 new units for a total of 82 apartments. These units are now available to residents earning up to 20% and 30% of state median income and 60% of area median income in one of the most expensive housing markets in the state.

Located in Santee, California, in San Diego County, Shadow Hill Apartments is an extensive rehabilitation and new construction project that revitalized an entire community. The substantial rehabilitation included adding new paint, flooring, windows, plumbing fixtures, cabinets, countertops, carpet, light fixtures, landscaping, addition of several third bedrooms, architectural treatments, and carports to the severely dilapidated units.

In addition, the acquisition included a vacant lot, blighted commercial property, and self-storage center that were demolished to make space for additional units and new resident amenities such as a new swimming pool, community room with computer lab, large playground, security gates, and on-site leasing and management offices.
