The Iris at San Ysidro will offer 100 stunning apartment homes for residents earning at or below 60% of the area median income. Fifteen apartments will be reserved as Permanent Supportive Housing for residents who have experienced homelessness. Fifty apartments will include enhanced mobility access features and five will include communications access features.

The four-story transit-oriented development will offer a host of amenities, including the $5 million restoration of nearby Howard Lane Park, street safety and sidewalk improvements that will benefit the entire neighborhood.

The Iris will be located near a trolley station and bus lines, family health facilities, employment centers and less than a half-mile from an elementary school. The community will include a community room, private offices for case management services, a courtyard play area for children and outdoor seating and gathering areas.

National CORE is committed to creating sustainable and resource efficient communities. As with other National CORE developments, solar panels will provide energy for heating and cooling. The Iris is expected to qualify for LEED for Homes Gold Certification or better.

The Hope through Housing Foundation will provide academic support services for children and teens, support family economic mobility and foster senior connections. San Diego Behavioral Health Services will provide primary services to residents of Permanent Supportive Housing. Casa Familiar will provide events and activities in conjunction with Hope through Housing. San Ysidro Health will provide onsite health education opportunities and screenings.

Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2025

The application and eligibility process will commence approximately four months prior to the completion of construction. Applications will not be taken, and no names or other information will be collected for any waitlist or qualification process until the leasing process is commenced.

To help our residents end their cycle of homelessness, tools and resources are provided by high-quality services from the Hope through Housing Foundation, County of San Diego Health and Human Services, Father Joe’s Villages, CASA Familiar, San Ysidro Health Services, and San Diego PACE, and Imperial Beach Community Clinic. Case management and care coordination, including mental, physical, and behavioral health services, employment development, and social connectedness are among the primary services provided for our residents.
