Veronica Cooper, community manager at Sunflower Terrace in Houston, is the heart and soul of her community. Known for her warm smile and unwavering dedication, she has a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued.
“I love being able to help someone out and put a smile on their face,” Veronica said. “I just want to make our community a welcoming and enjoyable place.”
Veronica’s journey with National CORE is as inspiring as it is impactful. As a resident, she was moved by the organization’s mission and sense of community. Eager to contribute, she started volunteering at holiday events, food drives and other activities, quickly proving herself indispensable to the property management team.
In 2006, seeking change and a solution to her relocating company, Veronica was drawn to Texas Regional Property Manager Lolita White’s infectious energy. Veronica seized the opportunity to become a full-time assistant manager at Sunflower Terrace.
“You don’t find that family feeling at many companies, but I found it at National CORE,” Veronica said. “Knowing that I’m helping transform lives is what keeps me here.”
Over the past 18 years, Veronica has become a cornerstone of the Texas team, embodying the organization’s mission and values. Her positive attitude and tireless commitment to both colleagues and residents earned her the Spirit and Enthusiasm Award for the third quarter.
Lolita said Veronica’s energy has been inspiring since the beginning.
“Veronica is essential to our Texas team,” Lolita added. “She goes above and beyond for our residents whether it’s securing food or rental assistance. She keeps the spirit high everyday even during the most difficult times.”
Congratulations, Veronica!
