National CORE hosted an April 24 groundbreaking ceremony for Oak Park Senior Living in Florida, celebrating the nonprofit’s first construction of an affordable housing community outside of California and a major investment in service to low-income residents in the Fort Myers area.
The event was attended by elected officials, local leaders, residents and National CORE team members to showcase a community that promises to provide seniors with a home where they can thrive.
Oak Park Senior Living will provide 144 new apartment homes to Fort Myers seniors, ages 62 or better, who earn between 30% and 65% of the area median income (AMI). The community will offer 124 one-bedroom apartment homes and 20 two-bedroom apartment homes for residents.
