Wells Fargo awards $100,000 grant to Hope through Housing to assist at-risk children

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. – The Hope through Housing Foundation has received a $100,000 grant from Wells Fargo to support educational and social programs for low-income and at-risk children. The money will help operate Hope through Housing’s signature After School and Beyond program – a safe haven for children to complete their homework, learn new skills and build positive relationships with peers and adult mentors. “We are extremely grateful for Wells Fargo’s continued support of After School and Beyond and of Hope through Housing generally,” said Steve PonTell, President and Chief Executive Officer of National CORE, which founded Hope through Housing in 1998. “Learning doesn’t stop at the end of the school day, and programs such as this create tremendous opportunities for children to get the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the classroom and, ultimately, in life.” After School and Beyond features a structured combination of enrichment activities, academic help, character building and social support. More than 1,300 children and youth participate in the program at 32 Hope through Housing sites.
