National CORE and Hope through Housing Foundation are proud to recognize Congressman Pete Aguilar as the 2026 Housing Advocate of the Year. Throughout his public service, Congressman Aguilar has been a strong partner in expanding affordable housing, advancing resident services and creating greater opportunities for Inland Empire families.

His support has helped drive meaningful change across the region. Since 2022, Congressman Aguilar has secured $8.6 million for Arrowhead Grove in San Bernardino, where the former Waterman Gardens public housing community is being redeveloped into 534 affordable homes with a Community Resource Center offering educational, health and employment services for residents.

His work extends beyond a single development. Congressman Aguilar introduced the Affordable Housing Resident Services Act to fund services residents can access where they live, from after-school programs and financial education to mental health care and employment assistance. He also secured more than $1 million for Hope through Housing’s Artificial Intelligence Innovation Lab, helping prepare Inland Empire residents for careers in emerging industries.
“As the Inland Empire grows, so should the opportunities for its residents,” Congressman Aguilar said. His actions have consistently reflected that belief.

Congressman Aguilar’s dedication to the Inland Empire is evident in both the projects he supports and the opportunities he creates for residents. We are honored to recognize him as our 2026 Housing Advocate of the Year.
