RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Daniel W. Lorraine, a senior executive with one of the most respected nonprofit developers of affordable housing in the United States, has been named senior vice president of property management at National CORE.
Lorraine, most recently senior vice president of property management at the Community Builders in Boston, will oversee a division responsible for managing nearly 9,000 units across four states.
Rancho Cucamonga-based National CORE, also known as National CORE, develops, builds, operates and manages affordable communities for families and seniors in California, Florida, Texas and Arkansas. Over the years, its Hope through Housing subsidiary has provided more than 2 million hours of transformational social services, including preschool and afterschool programs, senior wellness and financial literacy training.
“We’re pleased to have Dan Lorraine join our senior management team at CORE. He brings a wealth of experience, tremendous leadership and a keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities inherent in affordable and senior housing,” said Steve PonTell, CORE’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
At Community Builders, Lorraine led a cutting edge division that thrived in difficult markets and managed complex properties. He joined the company in 2008 after six years as regional manager for Trans World Entertainment Corp. in Albany, N.Y. He also spent 18 years in management positions for Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS Pharmacy.
Lorraine said property management “is really about impacting people in a positive way,” and was impressed by CORE’s mission to transform lives and communities.
“There are ways to break the cycle of poverty. CORE and Hope through Housing understand that, and have programs in place to make that difference in people’s lives,” he said.
Lorraine will join CORE on April 29, 2014
