On June 28, the California Strategic Growth Council approved funding of $25.4 million for Legacy Square, a transformational mixed-used, family development in Santa Ana, and $23.8 million for 3rd and Dangler, a vibrant transit-oriented development in East Los Angeles.

Legacy Square

Legacy Square is a transit-oriented, multi-purpose, affordable housing development adjacent to a future Orange County Streetcar station located at Santa Ana Boulevard and French Street. The development will replace two underutilized buildings owned by the Santa Ana United Methodist Church with high-quality affordable apartment homes and flexible space, bringing new investment to downtown Santa Ana.

3rd and Dangler

The site for the transformational development of 3rd and Dangler has been vacant and unimproved for decades. National CORE partnered with several entities, the County of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, and the Los Angeles Transportation Authority (Metro) to create a “complete community”. This partnership brings affordable housing options near major transit systems, increasing mobility options, promoting sustainable urban design, and helping to transform the surrounding area.
